ABOUT ME
MY STORY
A camera has always been in my hand. In the 90’s, it was only film. In the early 2000’s, it was a DSLR. Now, all you need is an iPhone and maybe a decent rode mic if you’re particular about sound.
In 2011, I decided I wanted to make something. I wasn’t sure what, but I had an itch to create. And that is exactly what I did.
At first, my attention and time was dedicated to stop motions. And then lip-syncing videos (I know…). I transitioned into documentary and narrative style work in high school, I had a knack for story-telling. It wasn’t until my senior year of college that I was behind a project with a group of very talented and inspirational folks. I worked on a film, titled Sugarcoated, that was dedicated to bringing awareness to domestic violence in relationships. I was the cinematographer. You can watch it here.
My undergraduate and post graduate time was spent creating promotional content for companies near and dear to me. I worked for Zimmerman Shoes, a locally owned shoe company specializing in children’s sizing. My mother and grandfather dedicated years to them, so it only felt right for me to create something beautiful.
When I wasn’t behind my camera, I was behind my phone managing Instagram accounts for locally-owned coffee shops: Philter Coffee and Pressed Coffee & Books. Or I was a production assistant for a few days on a random set in the closest city, Food Network’s Fix Me A Plate was my favorite set. I was asked to provide fill in shots for an episode of Extraordinary Stories Behind Everyday Things on Magnolia Network.
My story is still unfolding, so be sure to stay tuned!
